    hi got a zyxel nbg334wuk01wireless cable router given today so i set it up on my virgin line and it works great got my pc on xp wired and my vista laptop on wifi.
    is it possible to set up a network with it to send files from one pc to the other seen posts on google about it but cant seem to get it goin it wud save me burnin cdrs to transfer files over

    just set up file sharing on both pc's and you should be good to go

    Yep right click the file you want to share and go to Sharing and Security Click the I understand risks of networking just Enable File sharing Click Share this folder Click Permissions and everyone Full Control

    then on the other pc in the address bar or run put in \\computername should see the share folder there.

    any problems gives a shout .

    It really is that easy? Ive been trying to set file sharing between my upstairs and downstairs comps for ages and it seems a right pain i nthe arse.

    cant get run \\computername to work but in networkmagic i can get files off my xp desktop useing my vista laptop but cant get files off my laptop useing xp desktop

    Vista is a pain in the Arse!

    Open Networking and Sharing Center
    and the Sharing and Discovery bit Enable Network Discovery, File Sharing, Public Folder Sharing. Like image below

    Vista System in the Networking and Sharing Center
    there should be a Picture of your computer and under it the computer should have name of the laptop
    in this pic its Vista-Ultimate so to open that computer i would put in \\Vista-Ultimate will allow you to see the files.

    XP > Right click my computer> Properties > Computer name tab and use that with the \\ in address bar

    if you don't get what i mean just let me know as i can rabble crap a little
