Carpet grippers on ceramic tiles

Hi guys.
my conservatory floor comprises of those big ceramic tiles.
It's a bit cold in there and I want to carpet it.
Anyone know the best method to fix grippers to this type of flooring?
Will Gripfill hold them or am i better drilling and plugging them?

May want to try a mixture of both.
Maybe drill each end and bed on some 'no more nails'.
At least the screws will stop it being pulled off should it come loose, cut the hassle of drilling them all as well. No more nails/ grip fill does hold well but may need a belt & braces approach.

I would drill and plug each end of the gripper and run 'No More Nails Ultra Adhesive' along the rest.

make sure you drill through tile edge into the grout will make things easier if you remove carpet at a later date just touch up the holes & you wont see them

Instead of no more nails ultra - try getting hold of some stuff called "Sticks like Sh*t" made by evostick - honestly thats the name for it - most good builders merchants and places like that stock it. Stuff is unbelievable - even sets and sticks stuff underwater

I reckon the ultimate sticky stuff is jb weld, but I doubt it would be economical unless it is a small conservatory.

put rubber back carpet down m8 then in the summer u can lift it with no mess and tiles will still be perfect other wise u will ruin em

I work in a flooring shop mate, and gripfill is more than enough on the grips for a hessian or secondary backed carpet. Pinning them or drill and plugging is overkill.

Felt back carpet is the way to go if you want to go back to the tiles in the summer, you could use standard spray adhesive to stick it down around the perimeter of the conservatory and it'll tack it down without wrecking tiles (it'll come up easily and should come off with some sticky stuff remover) if you don't bother with the spray glue the weight of your conservatory furniture will hold it in place.

Or pull the fuckers up, get some underfloor heating put down and have it retiled!

im with russ, just use feltback and spary adhesive

as for no more nails, its shit. back in the day we used a 2 part solution and it stuck gripper to anything but i seem to remember having to leave it overnight and got u real high

but if the surface is flat feltback does well and eliminates the need for underlay and gripper

If you use the no nails or something like that and later decide you want to remove them they wont come off easily. When that stuff dries its like cement, you'll probably damage your tiles. The spray will come off a lot easier.

Gotta agree with the rest and say feltback carpet is probably your best bet.

Cheers fellas. Feltback was the best option. Bought it fitted it job done.
Ended up with a big roll of velcro stick on tape - did exactly what it said on the tin
