Weird Fault on 360

Just had a phone call from a mate of mine how tells me that when he wakes up in the morning
his 360 is always on even though he knows he turned it off and did not leave it downloading something.

Also he said that sometimes the disc tray is open when he wakes up and the machine is on other times it is closed and the game is being read.

They this morning while he was playing a game it just randomly ejected after an hour of playing a game

The only thing i can really think of is that his drive is playing up but why would it eject itself at night when the machine is off which gets me thinking it could be the eject switch playing up slightly or worse case motherboard (but can't see it).

Anyone come across this before or heard of it anywhere else

If he leaves the controller on charge the box stays powered up (no lights but fans still run) ??
But the drive opening when powered down while he's asleep ??? He's probably sleep gaming... no other explanation imo

any chance of some thing using infrared that makes it eject like one of them sky senders or some thing

Or maybe he leans on a media centre remote? Still be odd for this to happen regularly.

Or your neighbor synced his controller to your 360 at some point, and is playing silly buggers..

after flashing, when it went back together, is the button touching the switch in the correct place or is it hard on the switch on the mo.bo. and it just takes a gnats fart to make it eject?
