What currently available dl dvdr+ to use

I'm in need of some more discs for backups i normally use verbatim 2.4x but can't find any for love nor money. I bought some 8x verbs a while back and they were poor quality and i had lots of coasters, i've also tried the aones but they were shite too. Have the 2.4x verbs been discontinued? What are you guys using sucessfully at the moment?

But the 8x Verbs should be fine, were you burning them at 8x? If so this might explain a coaster, set burn speed to 2.4x no matter what speed the disc can handle. Some people burn at 4x with no problems but I always burn at 2.4x.

nothing stopping you burning at 2.4x

like everyones said, just use the aritas m8, wont have a problem on benq or liteon

Lol yes but my point was he mentioned in his original post that he can get Verbatim 8x media and has tried them with coasters. He was asking for Verb 2.4x media specifically or what other media we can recommend.

You can't go wrong with the Arita's mate,i'm still using the 2.4x@4x and have never had any prob's.

The Arita 2.4 burn at 4x? I always burnt the verb 2.4 at 6x and never had a coaster.

If you are concerned about speed just burn at MAX speed, AFAIK they are capable of at least 4x. But unless you are churning them out on a mass scale I don't see the point in risking a coaster. Waiting 45 mins for a 2.4x burn can be annoying but at least its reliable

I used media code speed edit to edit the firmware on my pioneer writer's and get the Arita's recognised as another brand capable of 4x(they will go at 8x!)but i've had no issue's at all writing these at 4x and tested on many 360's and they ahve been excellent.

The Arita 8 speed disc's on shopneo show the dye just as "Ritek" is there any more info on the dye?
