Found a problem.

Tried to run a game through it that supports DX10.
Because it's preloaded with DX11 it wont have any of it! lol

Gonna try and downgrade to DX10 on Windows 7 now.

I can run and have run Win7 via VMware no probs - its good infact, however when doing a upgrade on the current live system, it finds no issues with compatibility then installs. Goes all the way to the bawhair 'im just about done' then fires up - upgrade unsuccessful .

Thankfully the go back to vista works very well even for a Beta - everything restored perfectly.

This Beta might need to be a clean install i'm afraid.

Too true. It's looking like a very nice OS from the looks of this beta.

Vista is the new WinME by the looks of it. A software blunder than they'd rather forget about. Personally, Vista has been good for me, but I have to support it for work and it's been poor for a lot of people.

yea theres loads of old versions floating about i wanted to make sure i got the official one. what do they do about licences ? does it just install or do you need to apply for one ?

I just installed the above, no license key needed. Installed all drivers and dual display from first install. I am quite impressed with it so far.

With no key you get 30 days , with a key you get it untill 1st August for public beta.

The Windows 7 Beta will stop working on August 1, 2009 even with a key.

Using Firefox and an addon called Check4Change (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3028)

I opened multiple tabs in firefox (6) , each with this as the page ...

The 64bit key appeared within 10 mins , but the 32bit key is taking ages to appear.

I have heard that the 64bit key will work with 32bit installation and 32bit key will work with 64bit installation.
