well after having a corrupt iso and having to redownload yesterday, i've just installed and almost everything works out of the box on my acer aspire one netbook. I only had to install a driver for the card readers but everything else (video, gfx etc) just worked. Looks nice so far.

Anyone running this in a VM? If so, which one you using?

I'm running 32bit Vista Business as my main OS, and installed Microsoft Virtual PC to try out Windows 7. The 32bit Beta works fine, but the 64bit reports that my Intel E8400 doesn't support 64bit code and won't install, seems that Virtual PC virtualises a 32bit CPU instead of a 64bit one too!

Downloading VMware now to try it, anyone know if that will work, or any alternatives? Thanks.

i hope this aint stupid money when it's finally released. It's looking really promising at the moment. Watch ms ruin a good thing by charging £130 or something for it. If they pushed it out at £40 approx they would sell bucketloads to people that would otherwise wait for a crack (me included)

From what I understand it will be priced the same way as Vista was, so you are probably looking at £130 ish for an OEM premium.

that'll be when it gets uninstalled then, unless i find a cheapy licence. cracking is more trouble than it's worth these days.

I totally agree. Are they making one version of it, or about 5 different ones as usual?

I hope they listen to the feedback and produce something worth while.

They should offer an option of a retail boxed version for say 40notes then maybe do a download via their website, or other vendors for say 29.99 or something.

I think most people would shell out for a legit version. As you say, the amount of fucking about you have to do these days is just a pain in the ass. Fuck it, i'll take two copies.

I still haven't been able to download the fucker. Tried both direct download links posted here, in firefox and IE, but still it downloads so much then just stops and I get an incomplete file. Any ideas lads?

Fixed my 64bit problem, it's currently installing in VMware Workstation, glad I own a copy of that!

I've got 4gb of memory, and have given 2gb of that to VMware, so I've currently got Vista running with 240mb free, makes life interesting!

Ok, i got the ISO and thats problem 1 solved.Problem 2 is Nero is asking for a Multi Layer DVD,and i aint got one.
So far Alchohol is happily burning away on a single layer 4.6 gig,so next problem will be to get it installed.

In the good old days an OS fitted on some Floppies, now its Feking Huge.It better be worth it.
