Does anyone know how to create a permanent side bar in Windows 7? I used to have one in Vista which wasn't an installed feature but can't remember for the life of me how I done it.

Sorry I should have explained myself better. It wasn't the same as Vista sidebar, it was the one that came with xp. I had all my program shortcuts in a toolbar/sidebar permanaently on the right hand side of my desktop.

Just drag it from the bottom to the side m8.

Yes I think it was office tool bar. Maybe old but I've always had it and lost without it.

You used to be able to drag a folder to the edge of the desktop and it makes it into a toolbar that 'hides' itself.
This feature was pulled from Windows 7 by the looks... Purely cos it was crap! lol
Use the Quick Launch bar, it can hold a lot more programs and stuff, cos the icon's are smaller.
