    Attention laptop screen flashes

    hi guys,

    my laptop is a higrade 17inch w812ui1
When disconneting the power lead the screen goes on, then comes back on when you move the mouse fast, but then keeps going off and only comes back for a second when moving the mouse,

If you turn it off without the mains it comes on fine, only seems to be when either pulling the lead out to roam or when putting it in.

Drivers are uptodate and direct from the higrade ftp site.

    suggestions?

Firstly i would check Control panel power set to when on battery LCD always on
Check bios for LCD brightness/Power management
i would try and reseat your LCD cable its normally under the keyboard not sure with your system see if that helps

but sounds like a power issue with either your LCD/Motherboard. try with a external monitor dose that get turned off when you put it on battery?

i plugged my monitor in, and it didnt flash when taking the power lead out, so i changed back to laptop and took the lead out and it didnt happen either, but it will start again in a little while.

so does this mean theres something loose, or could it be the ac adaptor?

Take the power lead out (look for a little symbol on your keyboard with a sun, one will be black and the other will be white) press the Fn key and the white sun a few times.

Goto control panel, power settings (sometimes comes under display settings) check your power settings for Battery and AC

What OS are you using, as youve only changed the lid settings not the power settings.
