    Default Insurance + Software Questions

Anyone know any good insurers for a 22yr old?? Im paying £890 + Interest (TPFT) as paying monthly so total comes to £940. I have a 1.1 Punto(Currently Fooked) and i passed my test in June 08 so im nearly at the 1yrs no claims mark. im with eCar insurance which has nothing but bad reviews but is the cheapest i could find as im not exactly loaded with cash!

Q1) Any Cheap Insurers for a 22yr old with 1 years no claims (June 09)

Q2) Know were i can download the software for reading and editing an ECU on my 1995 Punto? (I can get hold of the leads)

To be honest, the two things you have against you are your age and your real life driving experience (or rather, the lack of it).
You may as well carry on with using the likes of confused.com / comparethemarket.com / etc, because you won't realistically see a price drop worth mentioning until you reach at least 25 years of age.

I reckon you'd be best off going around all the comparison sites in turn, then the likes of tesco, direct line and any others that give online quotes but not through comparison sites, then phoning around the smaller outfits like sky, AF etc etc.

Is there an owners club or similar because quite regularly they will have ties with an insurance company offering further discount.

Elephant mate. They insured me (21 with 1 years NCB) on an Evo V with a few mods for £1,400 as a one-off payment (monthly would have made it about £2,000). All other companies either wouldn't touch me or wanted about £3,000!! Bell is also their sister company, but one usually gives slightly better prices than the other.

I passed my test in Dec 2004 though, that DOES make a difference, even though I dont have the no claims to go with it (was at uni and wasn't driving for 3 years).

It also comes down to where you live but at that age and experience you probably wont get much cheaper. You'll see the difference in the next 2 years (providing you dont claim)
