Some subscribers to internet service providers O2 and Be Broadband have reported that service at weekends and in the evenings is being affected by a severe slowdown, resulting in some users finding that they are unable to access their usual sites.
Be Broadband was bought by O2 back in 2006.
This was before they launched their own service on the same ADSL2+ network, and many subscribers are accusing the ISP of throttling the bandwidth.
However, O2 are denying any network interference and state that they do not throttle connection speeds on their network.
The ISP gained 62,800 new customers during the last quarter, which is impressive considering that other ISPs have been showing a downturn.
In addition, these two broadband services are often at the top end of the customer satisfaction surveys.
