Nintendo DS R4 SDHC stuck on 'Loading...'

    I have 2 R4 SDHC and running v1.21. one doesn't.

after cross testing, looks like one of R4SDHC is fauty. Either it goes to the DS warning health and safty screen or freezes on 'Loading'

When loading the r4 on it's on (without sd card) can anyone tell me what theirs is doing?

or what I can do to get this sucker working?

    Leng

Seems you may have the wrong firmware on your cart as your cart is a fake r4. The latest firmware for you R4 is 1.25 which can be found here http://www.ndslr4.com/index-en.htm

put that on and see it it sorts the problem out.

1.25 is no different. when you say wiped, do you mean formatting the card?

My son has an R4 and we can't use anything higher than 1.18 else it just freezes up.

I'm getting an AceKard2 for mine instead heh

    Too many fakes/clones about.

If your R4 will only play games with a v1.18 firmware then you have a genuine R4 cart - one of the best carts available.
If you copy a game to the card and you get a crash on the 'Loading' screen then you need to patch the rom with an older 'arm7.bin' file.

If you do some searches for 'MaxCrass Method' you should be able to find the software and instructions to sort out this problem.
Its a very simple procedure and it has worked on *every game to date that wont run on a v1.18 R4 cart.
(*except GTA Chinatown Wars which broke the rules for every cart)

    Hi Geezah

Yeah, no worries firing up games, I've had to patch a few lately using Max Crass method as it errors when loading.

My post was a little unclear. What I meant was, we've not been able to use any newer firmware than 1.18 else Moonshell just hangs when loading.

v1.18 firmware was the last firmware ever written (by the R4 team) for a GENUINE R4 cart. No other 'R4' firmware will work on this cart as they have been modified to run on the clone R4 carts.

IMO the genuine R4 has the best build quality, simplest menus and WILL play all roms (just that you have to patch some)
All flashcarts will be affected the same sometime soon, its just thst the R4 was the first company to be closed for copyright/fair trade laws...the others will no doubt follow.
