Just download it direct from eset http://www.eset.com/download/registered_software.php

Then when it asks for a logon and password go to nod321.com and use one from there - that works fine

Thats because you are using a 32 bit app on a 64 bit OS.
Go to Eset and download a 64 bit one.

I found avg free 32 on xp pro32 worse than no anti virus!

Had pc at home with no a/v - gradually got slower and slower over 5-6 years but was still usable. Scrubbed it and installed avg free - within a week it was unusable due to popups. Scrubbed it again and now it has no av, it's survived a few months without problem.

Recommended it to a bloke at work before I had this problem, and his laptop only lasted a week or two, as well as my dad's laptop which lasted more like 3-4 weeks, so I'm not the only one.

Avast Home Edition, its free and updates every 4 hours, licence is for a year and renewable by registration (free)
Used it for 6 years and never had a virus, does'nt struggle with keygens either.
