The man who stuffed his girlfriend's cat into a makeshift marijuana pipe defended his actions on Tuesday, saying that he had done it on other occasions and that it calmed the cat down.

Acea Schomaker of Lincoln also said he never intended to hurt the 6-month-old cat, Shadow.
Sheriff's deputies - who were responding to a domestic disturbance at the residence - ticketed the 20-year-old Schomaker on suspicion of misdemeanor animal cruelty Sunday after catching him smoking marijuana from a boxlike contraption that had the cat stuffed inside its 12-inch by 6-inch base.

Schomaker said the cat would bite and scratch them but he didn't want to discipline it by swatting or squirting water at it. He said they didn't bring it to an animal shelter because they feared it would be put down.

So Schomaker said he decided to use the makeshift pipe because he had heard about people calming their pets by blowing marijuana smoke in their faces.
'I know for sure this isn't the first time someone has done this,' he said. 'I'm just the first one to get caught.'
He said he put the cat in the bong a total of three times and it seemed to calm the cat.
'Every time we took her out she would pretty much just lay down and proceed to clean herself and act like a stoned person,' Schomaker said.
The bong had a foot-long piece of garden hose coming out of a Plexiglas box, with the top secured with duct tape. Schomaker said the pipe was constructed in such a way that the cat did not get immersed in smoke to the extent some might believe.
Schomaker said law enforcement and animal specialists lectured him about why what he did was cruel, and that he learned from his mistake.

me m8 had a cat called fish once and we used to get it stoned sometimes then put a wiker basket on top of it and watch it run round the room, the cat fuckin loved it lol and never did it any harm, didnt put it in a fuckin box tho lol.

ye we gave fish blowbacks, but not every fuckin night and it used to stick its paw under the wicker basket to grab at our hands and ball of wool, the cat could knock the basket over at any time and knew it but he really did love playing in it after a blowback, actually eve without one he still loved that basket.

all in all i dont think we did the cat any harm at all as it wasnt that often we did it and if we had seen the cat did NOT like it then we wouldt have done it again, but it was a scouse cat and hard lmao, used to fight rottys

honestly its pathetic, there's a chinese city whos population consumes 10,000 cats a day, then there is the american enforcement and animal aexperts getting involved because 1 dude gets a cat stoned.

pretty sure i got some pets stoned in my late teens and early twenties, they never seemed to mind and we had a good larf
