How far do you travel to work?

After reading this post http://digital-forums.com/showpost.p...1&postcount=13 i was wondering how far everyone else travels to work? I couldn't imagine travelling 55 miles to get to work! That would be the equivalent of me working in Leeds. I went on a week long training course that was 55 miles away and I got a hotel lol

Also if you work so far away then how long does it take to get to work and why did you get a job so far away?

I work 1.5 miles away from work which is quite convenient

well i main home is 120 miles from my clients (canary wharf) and with First Great Western being a piece of shit and guarenteed to get you in to London late, I gave up the commute after a very stressful month and bit the bullet to have a weekday place that's 3 minutes walk door to door. Apparently 400m according to googlemaps.

Means I get to see my kids when they are awake too!!!

12.5 miles each way in the car for me.

Dependant on what time I leave (5 minutes either way makes a lot of difference) it takes about 25 minutes in the morning and 35 going home.

about 18 miles, I work in Leeds and in can take anything from 30 to 60 mins depending on time of day and whether the little darlings are at school...

I have a round trip of 30 miles a day to work.

I don't consider that too bad. What kills me is the 2 and a half hours I spend travelling in my car. Tho, if I were to use public transport it would take that in one direction and cost £16 :-(

Drive 200 miles round trip to the office once or twice a week (Cambridge to Farnborough)

The rest of the time i walk 20 feet from my bedroom to my home office

Takes me 40 mins door to door. I think its only 4 miles, I go from Brixton to Bank.
Can be a bit of a nightmare on the tube, but i cant be arsed cycling there.

Before my redundancy I used to go about 30 miles each day, would take 1.5 hours in the morning, 2 hours on the way home, due to the way the connecting trains worked, and before there were any delays on the trains. I must admit now to looking (not too hard) for work a lot closer to home, because losing 3.5 to 4 hours a day to travel I found quite depressing.

I live about 1.5 miles from work, which is about 6 mins on the tram or 15 min brisk walk.
I don't take it for granted, I endured 6 years of UK commuting where I'd typically spend 2-4 hours per day stuck in traffic.
