ITV HD accessible with new Sky EPG

    Wednesday, March 11 2009, 10:18 GMT
    By James Welsh

Sky+ HD customers whose boxes received yesterday's programme guide upgrade are able to manually add ITV HD to their lineups.
According to reports on Digital Spy's Sky+ HD forum, ITV HD may be accessed by going to the Add Channels menu and using the following settings: 11.427H, 2/3, 27500, channel 10510.
ITV's high definition service launched as a service exclusive to Freesat last year, using a non-standard stream to obfuscate its availability on non-Freesat satellite receivers.
The new version of Sky's electronic programme guide was rolled out to 38,000 boxes yesterday and will be rolled out to all high definition boxes over the coming weeks.

I can see this loophole being closed by the time I get the new EPG.

Hopefully not and I'll be able to watch the little HD content that ITV offer.

    Hmmm I dont see why?

Its not as if the average Joe with a HD box will have any idea how to do this!

Its been available for months on skystar and other FTA sat receivers and they aint done owt.

Yeah but there's history between ITV and Sky's regarding the EPG. I can't see ITV letting sky have this channel for nowt. As you say though, average joe won't be able to do it.

No m8...you cannot force a download of the new software.

If you do a forced firmware upgrade you will just reinstall the last stable firmware.

Its not possible to manually tune to ITVHD on the current EPG.

    Cheers Nibb,

hope that changes once programs start flowing better.

I wouldn't mind coming back to watch the game in HD, I take it the only way to record it is doing a manual record? (as it's not in the epg)
