Xbox 360 Selling warranty stickers, should it be legal or not?

I recently saw a couple of listing on fleabay for warranty stickers for the 360, now i think its a brilliant idea for a lot of people to be able to buy something like this.

if someone gets their console repaired, such as a laser replaced or maybe just a service etc why should they be penalised because of that. also some people might damage their warranty sticker by accident when replacing a faceplate etc.

i tend to save warranty stickers and i have the older silver ones and also a few of the newer big square type but i save them for customers in case its needed after a repair. i dont do it to try and defraud MS but if someone asks me to try not to damage the warranty seal, sometimes you just cant help it.

the guy on ebay was charging £12.99 which i think is a tad expensive just for a warranty sticker especially when you can source 250 for the same price (not microsoft ones).

do you think that people should be penalised just for having a repair done?
with ms giving an extra 3 years warranty ONLY for consoles with 3rrod as long as the sticker is intact then a lot of people will lose out.

should the rules be relaxed just a little?

I've sent 2 consoles back now with no sticker, both came back repaired. Just make sure there is no trace of it.

A kind soul on these forums sent me a replacement but I put it on wonky so I made the foolish mistake of ripping it off to try again only to find that I'd just voided it lol.

ive seen a few be sent back because either the warranty sticker is not present OR damaged. when the consoles used to go to scotland they got repaired whatever state they were in. but since they been going to germany they have been a lot more picky

i dont sell em m8. only keep them in case customers need em.

the main point i wanted to get across is why if its so easy for me or anyone else to use a heatgun and take the warranty stickers off, both the old and new type do they still insist on a machine having a warranty sticker intact b4 they will repair a console. does this and the fact you can buy em off ebay , make the whole warranty sticker situation pointless?

if they are sending machines back just because a sticker is missing, if you can go buy one off ebay anyway - why dont they just go ahead and repair the consoles.

now faced with this point do you think the stickers themselves should be legal or not?
and if so, why? its only a sticker.
the xbox 360 is the most inherently faulty console ive ever come across. it eclipses the ps2 laser faults and as a result should microsoft just put their hands up and fix every console regardless.

also with regards to the 3rrod, they will fix any console up to 3 years after purchase free of charge 'if that console has 3rrod'. but in my experience the xbox 360 has one problem (overheating) that causes 3 or 4 faults including the 3rrod. why do they insist on only repairing consoles just with 3rrod? ive seen consoles with no video just audio - same cause as 3rrod, ive seen consoles with no audio or video - same cause. you see the pattern.

the faults ive mentioned are all caused by the same thing yet the majority will not be fixed free by ms.

so you have the warranty stickers which they will not repair if they have been tampered with
then the xbox 360's which are faulty with the same cause as the 3rrod but with different symptoms.

its all to save money at the end of the day. if they fixed every fault i bet they would be looking at 4x what its costing now so they do this intentionally.

im pissed btw so ignore the rant.,

i just think that with the easy availability of the stickers it makes the whole process pointless. its a money saving exercise at best.

The new stickers are so easy to take off, most of the time they're not glued properly. The silvery ones were a pain in the arse when I remember having to use a hair dryer for them.

The last one I got back from ms was only glued to one side of the case. The section covering the other side is about 5mm squared and wasn't even glued down.

Yeah, thats the place I mean, just put a little force of a screw driver on the clip underneath it and it'll come off no problem.
