Virtual windows question

Hi
Is there any software that allows me to run my windows as a virtual windows, for example, if I wanted to test if something worked, install an application to see if it worked ok, or make changes to windows, I can do so once the program is run and when I exit the program my windows returns to normal as if nothing happened.

Does that make sense?

Im sure i've seen something like it a while ago just can't remember exactly what it was.

You'll need something like VMware workstation (or player if you already have a Windows VM) and use the snapshotting feature. Once you've finished playing around in the VM you can then roll back the changes to the previous snapshot.

I'll PM you when I get home as I may be able to help you out (and others with access to Blaggards FTP). That is of course if it isn't already on Blaggards FTP.

There is a version of vmware up on blaggards that lets you do precisely that I believe.
