i have been given one of these too format and return

it has a license key for vista home basic but no restore partion or cd

i have tried looking for vista home basic but cant find it anywhere

what options do i have for an os?

If you can find a dell oem copy you won't need a key.

Yep as Over Carl Said Any Dell OEM disk will install and work without a key what ever version of XP or Vista you "should" use the one that was bought with your system for Microsoft to be happy as you did by that licence
