    Help Signal too strong?

    Hi all,

Having issues with my Eurovox Max V 2008. Every 3/4 seconds it will 'pop' and show video artefacts on the screen. I have done a bit of reading which seems to suggest that the Signal is too strong. Would this be right?

Anyone had any experience of this? Best solution?

    Cheers,

    TheDean

Try some attenuators of varying values, I'm sure you'll easily source them from your favourite TV/Sat store. Take their advice regarding values to try but but some smaller as they can be used in "series" to increase the value.

Bought the bottom one. Are they easy to set up? Is it as simple as fixing the feed into it, the popping into the back of the Eurovox?

Very easy, just aerial lead into attenuator, attenuator into box and play with the levels.

Interesting....seems to have calmed off a little bit and isn't 'popping' as much. Was doing it a lot on BBC1, but that seems ok now. Is an interesting one that's for sure!!!

It's back with a vengence tonight....very odd! Particularly on BBC1/2. Is there anyway you can tweak indivdual channels within the Eurovox menu itself rather than using the attenuator? ITV has been perfect all night for the fotball....so strange!

It does - shows most, if not all at 78% strength. This hardly ever deviates, so really confused.
If I thought that a new box may solve the issue, then I'd buy a new EX 7000 HD...but this is seemingly not guaranteed to solve the issue

No idea what to do for the best

This is back worse that ever.....So, so irritating - essenially unwatchable now. At my flipping wits end....if I knew buying a new box would sort it, i would, but I'm thinking that's not guaranteed?!

What else are you running on the cable feed? are you using an isolator for the TV feed as well? Is the box receiving enough cooling?

I did initially think cooling could be an issue as it was inbetween te 360 and the media Pc, but now its on top of everything so air can get into the vents ok at the top.

We are running a modem hrough it as well, but this is upstairs on a different 'cable point' if that makes sense?

Not sure what an isolator is...just a little white box on the wall, cables goes from that into the Eurovox

If the problem is not in the box you'll be throwing good money after bad. Is your modem and tv feed split before either device?
If the problem is outside your house you're screwed, you can't exactly ask the provider to sort it.

Aye...I know what you're saying. I guess I just need to try another box and/or try this box on a different feed.

As far as I know modem / Tv feed are not split before either device.

As far as the EX5100 is concerned, would you recommend it?

I have no experience of either box, I have a dreambox 500c clone, Digivox and direct feed into my Sony Bravia using a diablo cam. Your problem sounds like an intermittent signal problem that won't be fixed by a box change.
