Messing about with macro lens, I know there is a few marks on the lens, much to my annoyance !!!

Nice efforts baron.

My thoughts: they don't really pop, perhaps a bit of pp work would help here, vibrance saturation etc. also the colours in the shells might have come out better if they were wet, perhaps try this next time.

Also I think the lighting needs to be a bit stronger.

Good attempts, keep it going.

thanks, good idea about them being wet, I`ve never thought of that

it was in the living room with a sheet of white A4, poor lighting agreed
