sony ericsson W580i STOLEN

hi all need some help/advice

my wife has had her phone stolen sony ericsson W580i by a taxi driver, we have informed the police and the mobile network to get the phone blocked, just wanted to know if these phones can be unblocked by anyone. i know its wrong but i'm not asking to get one unblocked just asking if it can be done. my wife was pissed up and can not remember the driver id/plate number. all we know is that the driver is a big fat dude and my neighbours will know him if they saw him again.

no he wont be able to get it unblocked. It's nigh on impossible to get one unblocked even if it's a genuine case as I learned with a panasonic phone that got stolen and returned to us a while ago, so unofficially he wont stand a chance. his most likely course would be to sell it abroad on ebay or something.

that doesnt exactly narrow it down as over 95% of cabbies tend to be overweight. As for the phone phone, all you can do is report it to the police and the council where the cab was licensed

It will only be able to be used abroad. It can't be unblocked to work in this country.

it was in a burgandy bomber and there are only 5 in this town. but they have 2-4 different drivers to them and out of them drivers 3 are women, so it wouldn't be that hard to locate him. the licence people are looking in to it and the description fits 2 guys.

a w580...? it can be done, but it's higly illegal so would need to know someone who works in phone repair etc..

software can be different from one phone to the next with sonys, I'm not overly familular with newer software methods, but even when newer security comes out, it's not too long before it can be done again.. 580's can be unblocked though, I have done it before myself..

it can be unblocked, very easy to do indeed if you have the right
tool box, and as the fella said it is illeagal and you will go to jail
but lets be honest how the hell are they gona get caught doing it.
as it will be done behind closed doors, god knows the fella on the local highstreet will proberbly do it on the fly. try and have a look on ebay and see if you can notice it as it will most likely be sold out of your area for spares or repair if the thieving little shit hasnt worked out how to get unblocked.

unfortunately most dodgy unlock shops will do an "repair" on it for very little m8...they are cheap phones as it is why bother or stress too much about it?

I thought when the networks in this country started speaking to each other (in the old days your phone would only be barred on it's original network), it also meant phones stolen in uk were useless across europe?

not any more m8 i bought a n73 of ebay about 2 years ago and it worked for a month or so then it got barred.

so a couple of weeks later i was in dublin staying in my cousins house and the conversation came up about the phone and he said it would work down there.so i sold him it and its still working to this day

hi all

i managed to track the taxi driver down, got the phone back after paying the fair and a week and half of seraching every night. he said that if my wife hadn't got in contact with him by the end of the month (march) he was going to keep the phone, but we couldn't as he wrote the number down wrong.

any way just thought i'd let you know
