    PS2 SCPH-39003 PS2 (Version 7) Problems

    Hi all,

My SCPH-39003 PS2 (Version 7) stoppped reading CD's, the usual trouble,. so like I have done many times on many units before, I cleaned the laser, blah blah blah.

Anyways I went a bit further than normal and took the entire DVD unit out, unplugging the Mobo to Laser cable and the other three down the side of the unit.

When I put the thing back together it powers up (the fan rotates, and the on off button has a bight green light) but there is no picture.

Pressing the eject button also switches the unit on, but the tray doesn't eject.

I think it's one of two things:

1.0 The mobo to laser cable looks a bit battered at the laser connecto end
2.0 I haven't aligned the tray up properly

If it's not any of the above, any ideas?

I don't want to have to replace the PS2 for reasons I am not allowed to talk about....

check any other wires, im very rusty on the PS2 but it sounds like more than anything that could be down to dodgy connections on the dvd drive etc.

sounds like somethings popped. either a loose wire or blown fuse.
