Email to 2 PC's

Hi All

I think this is the right section to post this!

I would like certain Emails addresses to go into two places as standard. My home PC and my laptop from the same domain.

I want to do this from the host with the home pc getting everything and the laptop getting selected email addresses. I would prefer not to use forwarding, as the home pc although normally left on has a tendency to reset itself periodically.

I use Websitesource.net as a host, if this helps.

Are you doing this through outlook, if so when you enter the pop details there is an option to leave the messages on the server, if you select this you can download them from as many outlooks as you want, the only downside is that if you delete from one outlook you will need to delete from the rest.

If your doing it via an exchange server, which is the better way if you delete a message it deletes everywhere, in the same way if you send a message it goes in the sent box everywhere, exchange also syncs your calander and contacts.

oh and regarding the selected email addresses you can just set up rules in outlook.

i think gmail can do this in the settings.

I have a Domain name that i could this up.

one@email.com sent to Home

Two@email.com to sent too home and work

but means updating the website/People with the correct email address to use.

Thanks theodotcom I will look into setting outlook! Would probably be easier setting up MS server is it downloadable in the usual places?

Simple way of doing this is using IMAP email.

It will sync between your two computers and anything you delete on one will delete on the other etc. You can also move email to different folders and this will happen on both computers.

Does you host not have webmail?

IMAP is probably the best way forward though.

All sorted now just set it to keep on server for 5 days!
