    Default Mod Chip

I have seen +25 BHP MOD CHIP FOR CITROEN C1 and wanted to know exactly what is does, if they work and any possible problems wirth them, including if it meant i will use much more or no more fuel when its installed.

I expect they arent that good as they are about £5 delivered.

    Thanks

i though as much, especially as it was £5 delivered.

I am however interested in getting my lights upgraded from standard H4 bulbs to HID bulbs. Are these really much better or not worth the hassel?

It's only a bloody resistor all it does is fool the ecu into thinking it needs more fuel

yes hid bulbs are better than standard bulbs as they give off around 50% more light than a standard bulb will.

make sure you go for a good brand like xenon

THIS LITTLE, SIMPLE TO FIT DEVICE WILL MODIFY YOUR ECU, TELLING IT THAT THE AIR INTAKE IS 2 DEGREES COOLER. THE IGNITION THEN ADVANCES BY 2 DEGREES GIVING YOU MORE POWER AND INCREASING TORQUE.
A friend of mine tried one on a 206 and said it was amazing - you could feel the additional power.

I drove the car with and without... not worth it

I guess if you think its working then you will believe its working. i suppose that if its fitted, you will just press harder on the accelerator and 'believe' thart you are getting more power.

A mate picked up a chip for his Evo quite cheap, I got the job of taking his old one out of the ecu and fitting the new one at the weekend, I had to dremel the legs off the chip and remove the pins and de-solder the holes 1 at a time as I couldn't heat it all up at the same time to take out in 1 piece , what a cnut of a job but it has given him 3bar boost and gained about 50bhp

Your so right but the same blokes just finished a 30k rebuild on his skyline and moved onto this as his new project, he's already had the motor rebuilt with all sorts of extras, it's still ongoing though, his fooking seats are out of a uk rally car costing not far off 2k new EACH , some carbon fibre recaro things which I can't fit into (moulded to fit jobbie)

    edit, it's running @ 1.25 bar

if your Lamps are simple parabolic reflectors, HID are illegal and you will fail MOT due to not being able to control the beam. If you have a glass lens on the front of the light to control the beam, upgrade legally for a better driving experience in the dark

The 25bhp chip is just a resistor as has been mentioned, it will increase your power but it will also fuck your engine very quickly.

Xbox4lifes mate must have got a superchip which is the controlling chip on the ecu which has been tuned to provide more power without fucking the engine as long as all the proper upgrades are fitted.

As for HIDs the law is pretty unclear, official guidelines here:

At the end of the day,,,if you want safe & reliable power/torque increase, pretty much any off the shelf chip is a waste of money... The only way is a remap.

i wudnt bother spending money on a c1, nothing u do is gonna make it perform significantly better. Just save the cash nd put it towards a decent car.

I must apoologise for talking bollox in my earlier post, fook know where I got 3 bar from it's running 1.25 bar kicking out 300bhp, it's an old evo(even his skyline only kicks out 1.8bar)
Just been for a spin in it and it's definately faster than it was...

On a side not he also dropped in a vid of him doing a few laps at donny, who's best to host a 500mb video file with, too big for youtube

These things do work on some vehicles and not on others but as mentioned already they are just a resistor that you can buy for pennies and on the cars ive seen them working on they dont give you the extra 25-30 bhp as advertised more like 4-5.Its the same old story with these things (You get what you pay for)lol. If you want the job done properly check out a remapping company who will charge a lot more than these chips but they will do a proper job..
