Default Imaging a HD without shutting down

Is there a piece of software which would enable me to ghost the hard drive without shutting the Computer down. It is a critical piece of kit, and needs to run 24/7. However it hasn't been backed up, so it it fails, we are a little stuck. Can I create a ghost without any rebooting?

You can use acronis to make a disk image - then if you need the backup just install acronis on new machine and run the backup image. Ive done this before.

I know the clone option on acronis - disk to disk - needs it to shut down. Ghost 2003 as well needs to boot into DOS etc...

    HTH?

Yeah as ,mentioned above I use Acronis True Image for our servers that cannot be shut down - works a treat. One this I will say is that is you install the entire package locally to the server its all good but if you install just the agent and run the backups from another server (we do both of these) you need to reboot the target - so if you absolutly cannot reboot it use the full installation locally on the server/PC in question.

9 times out of 10 I've used acronis it hasn't rebooted, but around 10% of the time (maybe less even) it decides it won't image unless pc is rebooted.

I use Drive Image XML.No reboot needed ,and it creates a set of files which can be browsed for file recovery from the image.Part of the Bart PE disc, and works perfectly.
Just install it on the machine and run it,then if you need a file that is on the backup and deleted from the main machine, just browse the image
