Xbox 360 BenQ Jungle Flasher freezeing

I am trying to flash a BenQ with JF. I have done this drive before on this same computer with no problems.

I can see the drive in JF and have it in vendor mode. I already have the f/w backed up from my previos flash.

When I attempt to read/erase/write JF freezes on bank 0. and JF stops responding.

I have disabled the VIA drivers, have port I/O installed and NETframework.

    I'm stumped.

Anyone have an idea wht to do?

I had this same prob over the weekend. If you are using the via card try the SATA cable in a different socket (ie one nearest the front inside). That stopped it freezing for me (with the windows drivers removed of course!)

Just tried it again and it worked. What a load of bollocks that was.

    OK, new problem.

I am now trying to do a Samsung MS28.

I got it into vendor mode by resending the command and powering off for 1 second then turning on. I tried to write the new fw but JF crashed on the second bank. I now can't get it into vendor mode because I can't power back on after 1 second. I have to wait until the 360 fully shuts down before it lets me power back on.

    Anyone had experience of this?

Clubber, just use Dosflash, you'll have no freezing issues

just do it in pure dos, you wont have issues in their, and you dont need drivers.

I've installed the drivers and windows says that the VIA card is working but I can't see the card when I run the mtkflash command.

That's exactly what I meant, skip all the fucking about in windows and just use dos.

    Mtkflash is DOS

use dosflash in auto mode, It works alot better than mtkflash for bad flash recovery.

If you can't get the drive to be recognized, keep trying or find another samsung to hot swap it with.

Thats where DosFlash excells, you dont need to hotswap.

Here is an image from when i was helping someone a while back, gives you an idea of the commands and what you should see.

The SST39SF020 is the Samsung, if its wrote enough, it will actually inquire as an MS28 instead of No Identify possible.
