Default What format to rip to

    Title says it all really

I've just got myslef an Icybox and stuck 2 1TB HDD's in it to connect up to my popcorn hour

I've done this as i want to get rid of all my old dvd's and music albums

Ripping the cd's is not a problem

I also know hoe to rip dvd's but just want some opinion on what format to rip it too

I know i could just rip it as
    AUDIO_TS
    VIDEO_TS

But i would rather reduce the size a bit but keep the Dolby Digital sound or DTS and keep the Video Quality

I'm aware that i will have to sacrfice a little but that doesn't really bother me

Anyway can someone point me in the direction of the best app for ripping them and tell me what is the best format to rip to

Use Ripbot264 to convert them to mp4 or mkv if you prefer. Pretty simple, high quality and has job control so you can encode them in big batches...

I use it to convert to a PS3 compatible format. There will be some loss of quality due to the re-encoding process but not a great deal if you keep the file sizes similar.
