vista IE problem

help,

one of my neighbours daughter has a laptop with vista installed on it.
it's relatively new, but has all of a sudden internet explorer has stopped working - it can't display web pages. i clicked the diagnose problem link and that returned the message - (see attachment)

i know the internet is ok on it as windows messenger live works ok and it does not appear to be blocked by the vista firewall as that is disabled, i've even downloaded google chrome, but that won't display internet either

even when connecting to a different wireless network that my macbook and pc work perfectly ok on, it still cannot display the internet.

any help would be much appreciated.

then download IE and reinstall it

my sentiments entirely, and more than that, throw the shitty pc away, i know where i am with a mac.

turns out it had norton installed on it and the setting had been tinkered with, so i've f00ked that off in preference of mcafee

Now go back and fuck macafee off for Nod32 and put your mind at rest that AV is all taken care of
