software to know which albums i have

hi all
got lots of these dvds which have top 40 albums on them (get these dvs every few weeks)
what i want is some software that allows me to
put dvd in (software reads dvd and puts album names in to an excel or something else)
so i can just put in each dvd the software transfers the names to spreadsheet and i have to enter the No of the dvd
hope there is something like this, as i can get my girls to do it for me

I don't know if it's still out there mate, but there used to be a program called Zipcat Pro that I thnk did what you are asking for; a mate of mine used to swear by it for his collections.

I never tried it, so if you do find it, please let me know.

itunes does a pretty good job of identifying stuff

I've used Media Monkey for similar things in the past, worked a treat.

I'm sure there are loads of plugins for Winamp that'll do it too - it does an HTML list as a default function.

Try DOS.

Do a DIR listing on the disk with the /b extension for bare format and send it to a text file using the >

DIR d: /b >c:\list.txt
