java screwed!!!!

Can anybody Help not sure what ive done but i tried to update java to 6 up 13 and kept getting a regutils error so i deleted all the old java off my operating sys ..vista
now if i try to install java i get "this software has already been installed on your computer would you like to reinstall it?" When i click yes it Say's "This action is only valid for products already installed."
If i go to control panel then click on Java folder i get "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.Create an association in the set associations control panel...
I give up i've already done some damage if anyone can help i'd appreciate thanks in advance

Try the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to remove all evidence that the program was installed...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\JavaSoft

(32-Bit, Haven't checked it as I'm on x64)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\JavaSoft

Right click it and select export to create a backup and then delete it. Then re-run the installer.
