DS Lite Vs DSi

g'day,

I am thinking about buying my other half a portable games console. Having seen a pre-owned DS Lite for £59.99, my questions are :-

• does the DSi and DS lite use the same type of cartridge?
• is it worth buying or will it be out of date soon?

any info would be good.

Yes they both use the same types of cartridges. Although the DS Lite has a gameboy advance slot, the DSi hasn't.

There will be DSi specific games out (don't think there are any at the mo), but the Lite definitely will not be out of date soon, you're more or less paying for the camera.

There are still a lot of issues with the cartridges for playing backup games on the DSi - another reason for sticking with the DSLite for a while longer yet

cant believe nobody has picked up on the fact that unless you are happy with shitty WEP security on your Wireless Router (Pretty much unheard of now) then you cant go online with a DS Lite. DSi supports WPA encryption therefore you can go online with half decent encryption not that its much better but theres no way im switching to Wep just so my lad can go online on his DS lite
