Default Wireless Router Dropping Wireless Connection

Hi all, i've had my Belkin router for years now, never really had a problem. Last month I had a problem with VM, I kept losing connection to the net completely. They sent me a new modem as the old surfboard couldn't cope with VM speed increases. That seemed to have sorted it.

But now, my wireless connection randomly stops on the router. I'm connected to Live using the cat5 cable fine, but the wireless connection to my PC stops. I have to reboot my router to get the wireless back up and running again.

Any idea's? I did change my security to WPA not so long back and it seems to have started since then.

My connection is now fine with VM as the wired connection to the 360 stays connected, it's just the wireless connection that now drops...

are you saying when connected via cat5 cable its working fine??

I would say its nothing to do with vm if its working when plugged in, cant you change back to wep just for a test??

When I log into my router there's an option to update firmware but it says its up to date, although to my knowledge I haven't updated the firmware in years (unless it does it automatically). Thinking about it, it did it when I was using WEP, but I put it down to problems with VM...

Thats what happened with me originally, VM has been fine since they sent the new small black modem out. So give them a call again mate.

well i suppose you could try setting it to a different channel, and also just 54g mode or whatever your card is might not help but you never no!
