    Default Hoverfly (I think)

Bilbo will be able to confirm the species

Just had our new conservatory built and it seems to be a big hit with the Hoverflies (when the doors/windows are left open). They're not so bad. They're quite bold and tend to sit there glaring at you . At one point, there was 4 in a row on a garden chair all looking at me. I wish I'd taken a shot but I was taking 4 or 5 shots of one so that I can focus stack them later. By the time I was done with that, 2 of the others had got bored and flown off

This was sat on the back of an old faded garden chair. This one was about 8mm in length and they eyes about 1mm each

    Looks better expanded of course

    Thanks Will.

If you can, invest in a manfrotto position rail. Very useful. I can't take macro shots hand held at all. The positioning plate helps immensly with that tiny area of focus
