Booker is the UK's largest cash and carry operator, offering branded and private label goods which are sold to 400,000 customers including convenience stores, grocers, pubs and restaurants. In June 2007 Booker reversed into Blueheath Holding plc to form Booker Group Plc. Blueheath is a wholesaler of groceries to independent and multiple retail and leisure outlets within the UK. The enlarged group combines Booker's scale, customer base, catering expertise, coverage and brands with Blueheath's technology and delivery expertise to form one of the UK's leading food wholesalers.

As the chart shows below this share has been on a scatty but decent upward trend since the start of '09.

The quote above details what this company is about - watching this share day-to-day is a bit of a rollercoater but its moving in the right direction. The real interesting news is that its going to be moving to the main market next month - very few companies manage this these days and 'should' be interesting for a nice rise.

Being on the main market would of course make it open to alot more buyers.

These have also been tipped as a buy on many online sites as well as Investors Chronicle.

Interesting, imo as a Booker customer they leave a hell of a lot to be desired regarding pricing, choice and customer service. Not the best business practices, although on the up side they do offer delivery service to retailers which is a great help.

I think if they can pick their game up to match their competitors then they could be a good buy.

Further to the announcement on 25 June 2009, the Company announces that the listing of its entire issued ordinary share capital on the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and admission to trading on the Main Market for listed securities of the London Stock Exchange plc ("Admission") became effective at 8.00 am today. Trading in the Company's ordinary shares on AIM was cancelled simultaneously. The Company's ordinary shares continue to trade under the TIDM code BOK.L and the Company currently has 1,488,679,080 ordinary shares in issue.

Steady rise so far and thats what we like - nearly 10%.

Looks like it might be a slow week for this. I should hope for 40p by weeks end if not a couple pence more.

yea its defo creeping up. i'm on a 4p loss from my initial investment but it's gonna start creeping up and we're gonna walk away with some pocket change

went down a little today..but seeing a lot of sells on LSE today for this..i'm sticking it out hoping that it will rise, i will bail short tho if i get a small profit tho so i can buy into something else.

Annual General Meeting & Interim Management Statement

For the 12 Weeks since 27 March 2009

Booker is holding its Annual General Meeting at 11am today. At the meeting, Chief Executive, Charles Wilson will read out the following Interim Management Statement:-

'Total sales in the 12 weeks to 19 June 2009, were up 7.8% on the same period last year (7.8% on a like-for-like basis). Non-tobacco sales were up 10.4% (10.4% on a like-for-like basis) while tobacco sales grew by 3.9% (3.9% on a like-for-like basis). Profits and net debt remain in line with management expectations.

On 1 July 2009 Booker moved from AIM to the Official List.

Charles Wilson, Chief Executive, said:

"Booker continues to make progress in a challenging market. We are helping 414,000 independent businesses compete by improving choice, having competitive prices and enhancing service. We look forward to continuing to help independent caterers and retailers prosper in a difficult economic environment." '

I got bored of these, sold out quite a while ago for small profit.

Will need to do some research and see whats changed.

This has not moved massively over the period since I posted but it has been a steady increase.

Currently 48p and was tipped a buy in Investors Chronicle a couple of weeks back.

Naked Trader has also bought in 20,000 with a target of 60p.
