i couldn't tell you the difference between the MC4 and the MC7 but i bought an MC7 10 years ago for the eclipse and the amount iv'e used it after that could be counted on one hand
there ok but not spectacular you could call them a cheap fix for focal lengh but there no substitute for actual glass
if you can i would skip buying the kenko converters and save up for something like a sigma 150 500 or a canon 100 400 i know there expensive but if you really do want to take photo's of wildlife these a basicly the minimum you need

or you could try and get closer to the birds which takes a bit of practise but can be done

As above save the pennies and buy a bigger lens. I say this for two reasons. Firstly you need to make sure that the convertor you want to buy is compatible witht he lens you are using it on. Not all convertors works with all lenses. Secondly you will have to take into account that it will slow your. If it is a f/2.8 lens then with a 2x convertor it will become f/5.6, so if you lens is f/5.6 at it's longest it will become and f/9 ish and will be very slow or need high ISO speed / high shutter speed to produce good images. Your are liable to suffer from motion blur or camera shake.

    Hope that helps..

yup i agree with the comments above, when I was first getting into DSLR photography I was excited about getting one of these for my f4 210mm lens but unless your lens is super sharp in the first place, you are going to lose out of too much by using a teleconverter. I think they are best used on an expensive 2.8 lens as a quick fix to avoid buying REALLY expensive glass, but for use on cheaper stuff, its just not worth the effort.

you could always look at getting a 400 or 500mm mirror lens, they are cheap and offer reasonable results, although they come with negatives too.
