Just bought this iPhone... Thoughts

Ok, so I have been on the look out for a cheap 2g iPhone for a couple of weeks now.
I have been trying for one with a cracked screen (but ok digitiser) on the cheap (as per the BST section).

Yesterday I managed to grab this one: 320382075637

After reading the description the first time I thought I read that the screen was cracked but the phone worked perfectly. However after looking over and over it again I am not sure... I have paid for it (doh!) and emailed the guy for clarification (although no response yet...).

After zooming into the naff photo, it looks like the case may be dented/damaged but it is difficult to tell.

Should this be the case where do I stand in refusing to accept the item and ask him to refund me? I have been so frustrated trying to get one of these, the last thing I want is to have to spend another £80 on top of the cost so far to get it working.....

If he comes back and says the digtiser is OK and the casing then I will be happy. A guy at work sat on his, cracked the screen and it cost him about £15 to fix...

So, thoughts... I have questioned his 'perfect working order' statement, do I have the right to refuse it if he says the touch screen is actually broken?

*EDIT* - Forgot to add, zooming into the crap image it looks like some LCD damage on the bottom row?? Bugger! I really don;t want this now.

You should have seen the guys at work. Screen (glass) was fooked after his fat ass sat on it. But once he replaced the glass it was fine.

So, you think what I think now... This is completely shagged... He has 100% feedback which I took for granted I take it..

It's difficult to know without seeing a quote for repair.

I have asked him to consider not positing and refunding me. Also advised him to be more clear in his listings.

It does look completely shagged from that photo when you zoom in. How can he say it is in perfect working order if the screen does not work? Surely that is false-advertising right there as he wont be able to use most of the features (Camera, iPod, make calls etc...)

Hopefully I am wrong and the case is OK and it is just the glass that needs replacing. Maybe now I have sent him 3 emails (to which he has not responded) I will get a positive response...

Was looking on there last night after watching some rubbish videos on Youtube.

Here is the image of said phone, is it just reflection on the case at the top or is it a dent/bend?

If so then it is wrongly advertised and he will be getting it back if he does send it.
As it stands I have still had no contact back from him after 24 hours and 3 emails....

If nothing tomorrow I will be going via Paypal.

Reckon it looks like its been in some fat fucks arse pocket and it's been sat on. Bent and smashed screen. Dead pixel stripes on nav icons too. Looks a fucked one.

Wonder if Apple will fix/swap it.

Dunno as the description is a bit vague. Prob on purpose. The picture is not the greatest, and it may not be as bad as you think.

However based on the above, you have purchased a lemon and I doubt you be able to do much about it IMO.

I would have asked for more detailed pics and description of damage prior to bidding, but then I don't trust anyone on eBay!

I remember when iPhones were quite new, a guy came into the pub I was in and sold a mate an iPhone. It "only needed a charge" and it would be fine apparently. Needless to say it wasn't and mate was left £100 lighter...

I was thinking that maybe it got broken in transit from the Royal Mail special Delivery.... It would be insured for up to £250 I think .....

Pretty sure you have to let 7 days pass by until you can file a dispute.

Reading his ad, I think you may struggle through Paypal. It's advertised as "working apart from the screen", which is how it seems to me going off the picture.
You'll have wait until/if it arrives and then take it from there, but I think it's lemon time.
