Hi,

I updated my iphone 2G to the latest version and phone works fine but...... when I download a free application from itunes the program loads ok but when I run it it starts and just flashes up on the screen and goes off totally.

Any ideas why?

it happend to me for cracked apps but apps from app store work fine

Yes but these are not cracked apps they are from apples store but free.

You tried rebooting the phone? Always worth while holding power and home button until it reboots then try running the app again.

Alternatively how old is your sim card?

I had the same problem and O2 sent me out a replacement sim and everything was fine after that. My old sim was about 2 years old.

i dont see how the SIM would affect apps, unless it access it for some reason.

some apps may not fully support the 3.0 Firmware release so this may be the problem.

i have had it in the past also.

Its sorted now. If I clicked the download link it tells me I've already purchased the item and allows me to download again without paying.
