Major Nelson Reveals Xbox is Working on New Dashboard

Xbox Live Director of Programming Larry Hryb has posted his latest podcast in his blog, revealing that Microsoft is working on making the New Xbox Experience guide faster.

"The team has done some really good stuff around making performance enhancements." Hryb said. "Whatever we call it (and it's not going to be called the NNXE), but whatever the next version of the dashboard is called, it's better with a lot of very cool new features. That update will be out later this year."

They still have a lot to learn from XBMC which is still far more functional and faster than the 360 dash.

I doubt we will see it to be honest. Not much call for it as backups are available through the drive flash method and few people seem that bothered about the added benefit of unsigned code.

If a modchip came out for the modern machine would people bother? I think I would but none of my mates would be arsed about linux, dashboards, apps and emulators.
