Default Recent games to recommend/steer clear of...

During the usual summer games drought, I always end up going back a month or two to try out older games that might be worth a go, but some of them have been missed coz they're shit.

Anyone got any they can recommend or warn them off from?

Personally, I'd recommend Red Faction Guerilla to anyone, but also say Damnation is possibly the worst game i've played on the 360.

well i've just got into Prototype. Got a bit slated in the reviews for bad graphics, but honestly they are fine, and the gameplay more than makes up for it.
It's a combination of assassins creed, mirrors edge and the crazy killing sprees that GTA used to have.
It's not stop action all the way, and I recommend it

There's no online play, so it might not be worth £40, but for those who d/l then it's a must.
There's also a nice mixture of the proper more intense missions, and side events that help build up XP points to buy upgrades for your shape-shifting, ass-kicking character.

cheevos aren't quick in coming, so getting those should increase the longevity of the game

Red Faction Guerilla is nice but am already a bit bored of it.
You tend to just do the same thing over and over again and there is not much skill involved.

Really enjoyed Wolverine, didn't put it down until I finished it and got 950 achieves without too much trouble.
Ghostbusters is good enough to play through if not a little annoying at times.

Recently been getting into Burnout Paradise and quite enjoying that cos its just mindless and you just drive around contantly so no real loading times or menus is nice.

Would warn off Virtua Tennis 2009 if you have any of the previous games since its exactly the same and it seems quite buggy in places and the music just drives me crazy.

Also didn't like Far Cry 2 or COD 5 WaW which is annoying cos I loved Far Cry 1 and COD4.

Just started with this, its ok, nothing i'd go mad over as it reminds me of the spiderman games, go from building to building, mission to mission, but it ok for killing a few hours.

Will try wolverine, played the demo and thought it was decent. Easy acheivements are always a bonus
Ghostbusters has annoyed me a bit, too many cutscenes and the combat isn't the greatest either. Virtua Tennis is such a long plod I can't be bothered, they have changed virtually nothing from last years apart from a few mini games.

I really didn't like Prototype, it was good for the first hour or 2 but I soon became bored. It reminded me of the Incredible Hulk with more powers.

I only really play Fifa 09 and COD:WAW these days. I'd definitely recommend the new map pack 2 (DLC), just for the new zombie map. Suberb and hours of fun.

UFC Undisputed is a really good game too. It's a game you have to learn, not just button mash. Only problem is cheats online where they quit as they're getting submitted or know they're going to lose so they don't lose thei ranking. A patch will be out soon to fix this though.

I bought the map pack and wasn't really impressed and went back to COD4. I only really liked the sub pens map. Saying that I totally forgot about the zombi map so will give it a go.

I think I am gonna give up on buying map packs (at least at the full price), such a waste of money. Every one I have bought I have been disappointed.
