    Default Moral Dilemma

    Hi all,

I have been reading the items and posts regarding people who have bought tickets for MJ off ebay and third party sources saying they probably won't get their money back... I sold two pairs of tickets to two different people on ebay.

The dilemma is... what do I do?

Morally, I think as long as I get the original face value of the tickets back from ticketmaster then I'll refund it all... but if not then what?

    opinions please

Its a tricky one. Have you already been sent the tickets?

Is it a large sum of money?

personally if you have the tickets I would send them to the buyer as that is what they purchased (they will be worth a bomb). If tickets havent been sent then I would give a refund.

just refund the amount you get refunded....thats as honest as you need to be m8, i bet most ebay sellers will give fook all back so your honesty level is off the chart to even be considering giving refunds....nice one.

Why does "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean
    the same thing?

aint your fault...if you can get a refund for the people you sold them to, then fine
they should be happy....If the refund is not in full, again not your problem

Sad news, but as for buying tickets off ebay, then thats the chance you take

The tickets along with the booking fees were worth about £170 each or so, I sold one for just over £210 and another for around £300ish

I haven't had the tickets arrive with me unfortunately. They were for the original announced dates, none of the tons of extra ones they added, so apparently AEG were covered for the first ten, but none after that.

So is general concensus that giving them face value as a refund is fair? or not?

Same issue here mate, sold 3 tickets total £600 after eBay add fees and paypal fees i think I got £500 just over, going to refund as it's the decent thing to do but how much? Not my fault on eBay fees, paypal fees taken off so may refund minus them.

Good point. Unless you put something in your auction regarding refunds then you have to post them the tickets as agreed or offer them a full refund. I would imagine that's how it works?

I'll refund them when I get the money back for them. I'll expect ebay to return the fees when the refund goes through paypal. I know the paypal fees are returned, but why should I lose out in all of this?

I originally thought of listing mine. If I had done so I would have put in the auction a note that refunds would not be given if the dates had been cancelled etc... just to cover myself (I never thought they would be cancelled!!)

Morally though I would probably give the money back (minus any fees you have encountered) as they will not be expecting it.

Also i'd wait until they ask for a refund as well rather than offer one.

Surely you would have to refund, i've read the reports about people who purchased off third party may not get refunds but you havent actually given anything yet for that money. If you were able to send out a ticket then the transaction is complete however surely the buyer would have a case as they have not recieved anything, You ad must have stated something like " 2x Michael Jackson tickets" If I was a buyer and the seller refused to refund the money I'd ask him for the ticket which he wouldn't be able to provide.

Hmm. If the tickets had been shipped, I would refund nothing unless I received a refund. If I did recieve a refund, I would then refund him in full.

Without tickets is an interesting one. I suppose if you get refunded, in my mind he should get a refund in full and that ends the matter. If you can't get a refund, I would demand tickets that have been paid for (even if they can't be redeemed), then send them in the post.

Thanks for the replies guys, my mind is made up that they'll get their refunds minus any fees/booking charges I have had to pay, as long as I've had my money back of course.

that sounds like the best decision,

plus I really can't see them still sending out the tickets to anyone. I doubt they would all even have been printed.
