Default Acupuncture - does it work?

I injured my rotator cuff 9 months ago and it hasn`t got any better. I never tore any muscles though. I`m at my wit`s end and a friend recommended acupuncture. Personally I think it looks like bullsh1t, what are your thoughts?

I had a few sessions with it after my 7 month stay in hospital after an RTA in 1987.

All sorts of pain relief was tried for my ankle / leg but none took the pain away.

I had acupuncture offered to me and like you was sceptical and had nothing too lose.

All I can say is that it worked for me and I would never of thought it.

I'll give it a thumbs up

From experience and various other things, i found it to be incredibly effective! I mean i've had problems fixed by acupuncture now which doctors have recommended surgery/medication for.

I have no idea about rotator cuff treating, but i've currently got a shoulder problem and going to have some acupuncture soon!

Only thing i recommend is finding an acupuncturist through the british acupuncture council:

With a good acupuncturist you can't go wrong

A guy at work has serious back problems and told me this was the only thing that worked for him.

Just a placebo imho. I've injured myself quite a few times in my life and none of those times have I been 'treated' with accupucture. Every time I recovered so I'd say that not having accupuncture makes you better, if I'd had it I could still be suffering!

Thanks for the replies. If I can get it paid for through my insurance I might give it a go. I guess to do that though a consultant needs to send me there and that`s not gonna happen?!?!
