    Default Neck/Shoulder Clicks a Lot

For a few months now, my shoulders and neck click a lot when I move/stretch them.

It feels like pressure/tension building up which is released when it clicks. Sometimes when it clicks it is slightly painful but not often. If I rotate my head or shoulders and stretch, I can work all the clicks out, but they come back in around 6-12 hours.

I've read all sorts of reasons but I can't figure much out.

I've read about a torn rotator cuff muscle, but I'm assuming a torn muscle would cause a noticeable amount of pain?

I've read about uneven joint surfaces, but this problem wasn't there before.

    Gas building up in joints?

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have this: neck, back, shoulders, breastplate, fingers, thumbs, wrists, ankles, knees. It's never really that painful so I just get on with it and if it gets stiff then I click it.

I've never known the reason so would be interested in this as well.

Don't we all have some limps that click, I know I have a few as well, but thought it was just getting old. But might give this glocuasime sulphate a go.

A study in the British Journal Sport Medicine (2003) gave subjects with regular knee pain, 12 weeks of a glucosamine supplement (2000mg per day). The results suggested that a glucosamine supplement can provide some degree of pain relief and improved mobility in subjects who experience regular, chronic knee pain due to cartilage damage and/or possible osteoarthritis.

I've had quite a bad crunchy neck for about 15 years. About 2 years ago when I was at the doctors for something else she checked my neck while I moved my head around and it went crrrrrrrack. She said "of course we cannot rule out MS". I said sorry, what did you say, I haven't got MS!!! I was well upset, I didn't have MS thank fuck! I couldn't believe she just came out with it though. It was something far from that although nothing to do with my neck so I still don't know why it's so crunch and cracky.

I've got highish urid acid at the moment, but that's another story.

I've always had clicks in my ankles, and sometimes in neck, knees, wrists, fingers and thumbs, but the neck/shoulder thing had only come on recently and is worse than the others which is what made me think something is up. Well I suppose I better accept I'm starting to get old.
