The newly released 0.9.2958 versions of MobileSubstrate and WinterBoard (upgraded to support ARM7/Thumb2) should now work on the iPhone 3GS.

Hurrah. Not sure whether to wait for release version of prplera1n or not now...

Does this install straight onto a 3gs with purplerain (2nd one) or do we have to wait for a new build to fix something in purplerain first?

so easy I couldn't believe it m8 . I just had iphone connected ( dont have itunes running in background) and let the purplerain do its stuff . took about 5 mins in total and all great works well.
I installed installous but find cydia better at mo. dont know of anything not to install

installous is better for proper apps stuff you find on app store and dont want to pay for
