Now that Setanta has gone tits up i'm no longer able to watch Setanta sports news, no problem i thought, i'll just watch Sky sports news instead, because my m8 who has freeview gets it (free) but oh no i can't, as i've been informed it's not free to me, even though i'm a sky subscriber, what a fookin joke.

I'ts only a quid to upgrade but it's the fookin principle of it lol

Even if you pay for the FULL sports package with Sky and HD, you still get no Sky Sports (it is bundelled into the news package) which as you said costs another £1

I still subscribe...but I hate them

Phoned Virgin up to cancel the other day as my contract had finished. Was going to move to Sky. They offered me full Sky Sports package at no extra cost and I did not have to reduce my 20 meg internet and it don't count as a new contract so I can cancel at any time.....

No freeview m8, it's a 5 year old pre freeview 44 inch rear projection jobby.

Free view customers get SSN free, a Sky subscriber such as myself has to pay for it.

Sky is a business, but they also have a large percentage of customers that are sick and tired of their 'squeeze every last pound' out of you attitude

Hopefully freesat will attract more HD channels and I will deffo consider dropping SKy
As for the Sky Sports News, that is just a disgrace.

There is absolutley no loyalty to customers that have been with sky for years
Most of the channels are just full of shit and repeats anyway
Only thing that stops me from cancelling is the Footy...Its almost cheaper to get a season ticket

Realist, what was the verdict then from Sky on why free channels like Dave and SSN are not free unless you have the correct package? Virgin is the same by the way.

The answer I got was each customer has to ask sales themselves" and didnt provide a direct answer why its not free.
