Default Beer festival at Earls court.... Price of beer inside?

    Hello gents,

I'm off to the festival this week and I wanted to know what is the 'usual' cost of the beer inside the festival. I've been told it works on a ticket system where you buy a load of beer tokens on the door and just use them to pay for the beer (as well as having to buy a glass)

    Is this correct?

    Cheers,

    Cue

All the beer festivals I have been to it has been £2 for a glass then you buy beer in either a quater, half or full pint. Never had tokens though but these are smaller events.

It's usually done on a token system when it's in Bristol mate.
Also it's the Bristol cider festival this weekend with over 50 types of rough cider to sample. It's at the exhibition centre right next to temple meads train station if anyone fancies a jar or three. £6 a ticket & the mangled wurzels are playing.

always been tickets at the few ive been to, something to get around licensing laws I was told.
I would imagine the price would vary vastly, the last one i went to it was 1.50 - 1.70 a half but when you bought 4 or 5 at once the barman always 'accidentally' forgot to tick a few of the quid boxes on our cards

I few friends went to one where customers getting through a lot of beer were given free bottles and stuff at random.

I used to go all the time when it was at Olympia but only once since it was moved to Earls Court.
It used to be cash rather than tickets, but that could have changed, but the set up is very much as described above.

Get a glass for a couple of quid which you can return for a full refund or keep if you want it.
The only thing I found is don't leave it until the last Saturday as the beer companies run their beers down so that they don't have any wastage. As a result they're all running out by Saturday and you're lucky to get any decent beers left, let alone try the ones you fancy.
