    Help PC won't boot

    Hi,

I was in the kitchen and I had my pc on in my room, long behold when I came down it was turned off (I had it on about 10 hours). So I pressed the on button but nothing happens. The light at the back of the power supply goes orange when I plug in the power cable and goes red when I press the power supply. There are 2 lights on the mother board and one is green and when I push power another goes orange. None of the fans move or anything its dead as a donkey in there.

    My specs:

    OCZ 1000W power supply
    EVGA 780i sli mobo
    2 x 9800 GTX+
    4 x 1066 1 gig ocz
4 x seagate barracuda hd's vary in size
    sound blaster xfi fatality
Antec 900 gaming case with aska nero fan.

My first thoughts we're to open the pc up and it was quite dusy in there. So i cleaned it up can't see anything at fault at first but it is a tight fit. Any ideas what to check first a lot of the stuff is in warranty. Can't imainge its overheated, I used to check the temps and they would sit around 35 and 40 in game.

I wonder if its just a power problem, would be annoying if it was the motherboard.

Any help would be much appriciated. Thanks

i would be tempted to strip it down to one hd, stick of ram and single video card to start with, i would normally have said check out the psu 1st but its an ocz one so good quality but check it anyhow but with overload protection and thermal shutdown i would let it cool for a couple of hours 1st.

no beeps or anything at all then ???

Why does "fat chance" and "slim chance" mean
    the same thing?

yeah no beeps, not the usual motherboard error codes

There are 2 leds which are on when the power is plugged in. Shame i've not got another power supply to try it with I just recently sold my antec 650w a week ago. Talk about timing. I'll have a little look around to see what people are saying about the power supply. Thanks.

Red light dosent sound good. Can you not borrow a psu off a mate to test? Obviously if it works you needd a new psu. Is it still in waranty?
