    Default Some LONG exposure shots

I've been obsessed with this for around a week now, some of the results I have been extremely chuffed with!

    What do you think?

They don't seem that long to me (but it's all relative ), my longest is at about 2.5 hours so far

1.. I like the weird colours here, the purple and the glow from teh moon is excellent, a real sense of motion in the clouds.

2.. Not very good it must be said, car doesn't stand out at all, no real interest in the sky either.

3.. Nice silhouettes along the horizon here, and the curve of the river is excellent and a touch of star trails as well which adds more interest to the sky, without thsoe i'd have suggested a crop to cut some of the sky out.

4.. IT's ok, nice silhouettes again, and some strange colouring which won't be to everyone's taste.

Overall I'd say 3 is the strongest of the bunch.

I really like the 1st and 3rd the colours seem nice if a shade too strong, but they suit the image

if the 3rd had the sky with the moon from the 1st it would look great if you ask me

Number 1 looks like the desktop of a Mac and OS X lol,

Great shots. How long exactly was the exposure? I might have to get my Camera out and start bloody using it!!

*EDIT* 300 seconds, found it on your Flickr site

Yes, 1 and 3 are the shots to keep here.

I love the sweeping clouds across the moon in 1 and as Carl says, a real sense of motion here. The colour adds a nice surrealistic feel to it too.

In #3, I love the foreground in this and the sky compliments it very nicely.

I see you're shooting around Warrington area? If it's not too much of an imposition, I wouldn't mind heading out with you guys one night. I love night 'togging and I'll be honest, going out alone around Liverpool isn't my idea of a safe night out with almost a couple of grands worth of kit.

I work a fair few shifts up to midnight in the month but if you didn't mind, maybe we could arrange something sometime.

With regards to long exposures, I've done a few night time ones myself which can be located under the night time section of my Smugmug Gallery. In addition, I've done a fair few long exposures during day light using my Ten Stop ND filter: See here http://ipc.smugmug.com/gallery/56545...47795794_6WTPZ

My favourite one being this one - http://ipc.smugmug.com/photos/540686773_nPQ4i-O.jpg
