Sky+ Won't playback

I'm currently having a problem where my SKY box just won't play any of my recordings. This happened a couple of days ago but started working again in the morning, it has now started again.

I have read a lot of post about some recording not working but this seems to affect everything on the hardrive.

I can select a recording and get info but when i select play nothing happens.

I have alos noticed that when you pause and rewind live tv the screen freezes.

Is this a know issue or a screwed Sky box

Probably the hard drive m8.

Have you tried a planner rebuild first see if that fixes it, then a full system reset (will delete existing recordings tho).

If that doesnt sort it then its a new hard drive Im afraid.

go to the services menu, press 4 0 1 then select (hidden installer menu), then you can do a full reset (you will lose all saved programmes though) it should sort it if it's not the HDD blown.

I had the same thing with mine a while back, turned out the HDD was buggered, rang up and tried to cancel as was out of warranty and they just sent somneone out for free to fix it - he replaced it for a new one and fitted new dish etc.

The first time i had the problem it rectified it's self the next day and was working fine, although it has happened again how could it be the hardrive.

hdd can work even when faulty it might be on its way out.. it might bad sectors on the HDD.
