Default furniture deliverers: Are they not allowed to take stuff upstairs?

I bought a big chest of drawers 1420mm x 800mm x 430mm for my bedroom. The blokes who delivered it said they were not allowed to take the chest up the stairs due to health and safety.
I had no chance of getting it up there on my jack jones I had to bribe a couple of my mates to help, even then it was a right game.
Is this right they are not allowed to take stuff upstairs?

All the ones I have had have done it fine so I would say they were just pikey layabouts.

I've heard it a couple times, so it wouldn't suprise me if they were jobsworths/new listening to 'elf 'n' saftey.

So what's the score if you live in a first floor flat? Lazy arses by the sounds of it lol.

The vast majority of times I've won them round just by asking nicely.

yeah I was thinking the same what if it was a flat. Well I've got to get a wardrobe as well that's going to be a nightmare I don't think I will buy it from the same shop.

If that is the case I would ring the shop you got it from and ask if they know anywhere else you could get a matching wardrobe as they just lost a sale thanks to their delivery cunts.

I had this when I lived in a first floor flat - got a washing machine delivered and the workshy cunts refused to take it up the stairs and just left it in the foyer.

Try as I might, I could not get it up the stairs by myself, so had to get a mate round.

    Shooooooo-ryuken!
