    Thanks guys

When I transferred it from the memory card to my lappy I thought "bloody hell, did I take THAT!"

Was well shocked! Got another 5 like it as well. The angry sky really seemed to contrast with the ride. EXIF Data below as requested:

    Camera: Canon S3IS

Shooting Mode - Shutter Speed Priority AE
    TV - 1/1000
    AV - 3.5
    Exposure Compensation - 0
    ISO Speed - 80
    Focal Length - 18.6mm
    White Balance - Auto

Cheers musado, but was more interested in when it was taken too?
It's a great shot and the shutter speed would freeze the action like that but can't get over an aperture of f/3.5 giving such clarity throughout the ride image especially at 18mm. That's one hell of 6mp canon you have there. Nice capture.

Ahhh, I took that last Wednesday, but only got round to emptying the memory card yesterday. If that disqualifies me from the competition, then so be it.

What surprised me even more is that I got a shot like that in hi-speed continuous & and hand held!

I took over 300 shots that day & got 11 decent ones in total [6 Air, 2 Nemesis, 2 Oblivion & 1 Rita]

Unfortunatley comp entries must be taken for the comp, not previosuly. Gutted.
With such a high shutter speed and a wide angle, shake will be minimal.

    Shame, its a good capture.

I've got an S3 IS too as my 'fun' camera when I don't want to lug the SLR around.
they're pretty amazing for such a small package, although the aperture is so tiny (even fully open - f8) that depth of field is really difficult to control.

Posted my attempt. Taken on 5th Sept at Pennington Flash. I think the location name should win a few points too .
I can't decide if it's a good or bad shot. I guess the voting will decide that for me.

it's fine - just keep using photobucket - it automatically gets the size and pixels down
